I created this site because so many people were looking for roofing projects  for me to do by my online handle, tinner666, instead of Albert's Roofing. And they weren't finding me either! I had tried to register Tinner, Tinsmith, Coppersmith, and others back around 1994. Where ever it was, it listed suggestions, and one was 'tinner666', so I took it. Easy for a dumb roofer to remember. ( I didn't realize the possible connotation associated with the 666! I assure you, tinner666 has NO associations with the devil!

My 'Love' is working on slate and metal roofs and in particular, the nitty-gritty detail work involved. I am a 'tinner'. The name is reserved for 'Ole Style' tin roofers. Hence, the handle, 'Tinner666'.  A lot of  roof pictures will be posted here, or linked to.

Any leak and many sources of any moisture in a home can create mold and mildew issues which can become very hazardous to the health of you and your loved ones, in addition to the obvious damage to the house itself.

Water Damage and Black Mold

The two go hand in hand. By the time a little brown spot shows up on your ceiling or wall, a lot of hidden damage has already been done. If it's a 'spot' only that gradually gets larger, it's  a sign of worst things to come as a rule. The slow leaks dampen the roof deck over and over. An area will rot out and allow the water to penetrate farther. Insulation may get soaked through before the spot shows.

The deck and insulation will often show signs of black mold, or sometimes, a white mold when the roof is opened for repair. The wood and insulation need to be replaced if they can't be thoroughly cleaned.

Large and small sudden leaks can often be repaired before other damage occurs.
